No more BabySmash for you!

Remember the BabySmash program that I thought was so great. Well, it is. Just not for my child. He's a little too hard on the keyboard. A few weeks ago, he popped the Shift key off (while being properly supervised). I still have no idea how he did that.

So, Tuesday night, as I was cooking dinner and Clint was packing, things got quiet. Too quiet. Clint came through the kitchen to ask what J was doing just as I was thinking the same thing. We discovered our young one standing in the chair at the desk pointing to the computer screen. "Sei judg cue de ese" he says in a very excited tone. (That's Jacksonese for those of you who don't know.) Clint laughed and I removed said young one from the chair to the sounds of hysterical screaming. Hhhmm...Maybe I should turn on the BabySmash just in case he climbs back up in the chair? Why, you ask? Because I was cooking and Clint was packing. Therefore, I knew that J could slip back in there undetected. So, I turn on the BabySmash and go back to the kitchen.

I was right. In just a minute or two I heard the sounds of the computer talking in letters and colors. Young one was in the chair. By the time I reached him again, the computer was shutting down into hibernation mode. How? I have no idea. This program is supposed to keep kids from damaging files and getting into places they shouldn't on a computer.

When I rebooted, I was missing three desktop icons and the about 8 keys in the "backspace" area were not functioning. How? Again, no idea. I found the icons in the recycle bin (one of which he managed to rename), but I ended up having to run a "system restore" to get the keys to work.

Moral of the story: Maybe BabySmash is for older kids, or maybe it's just not for Cook kids.

Not Me! Monday

Okay, this is my first Not Me! Monday, so bare with me. Hop over to MckMama at My Charming Kids for more Not Me! Mondays.

I did not pretend to still be napping when Clint pushed the bedroom door open so that I could have a few more moments of peace.
I did not cry like a baby when I snapped my fingernail off in the quick and ran to find my husband. My husband did not avoid my crying self because he thought it was something insignificant, like I found a spider. What?
I did not thoroughly enjoy cuddling with Jackson while watching a short kid's movie. And Jackson certainly did not sit still while watching, that would have been perfect.
I did not get tickled by said movie and wonder "Do kids actually watch this?" Apparently so.
And lastly, I did not pour Jackson a sippy cup full of milk just to gulp half of it myself and pour him more.
Don't forget to read the other posts at MckMama's!

Doughnuts!!

Hallelujah!

Krispy Kreme is giving away a free doughnut on Tuesday!! And, yay lucky me, we have one just a few blocks over. Here's what their website says:

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) is honoring American's sense of pride and freedom of choice on Inauguration Day, by offering a free doughnut of choice to every customer on this historic day, Jan. 20. By doing so, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are making an oath to tasty goodies -- just another reminder of how oh-so-sweet "free" can be.

Wordless Wednesday...on Friday

I am totally aware that it is in fact Friday and not Wednesday. But, I had intended to post this on Wednesday and had a few issues with my home computer. So, let's pretend.

New Years

Jackson finally learned how to drive his four wheeler over New Years! No more back-breaking, button-pushing rides from Mommy (or Granny)!

The Bet

Don't bet with my husband. He just might win. My cousin, Will, found out the hard way.

Clint is an Alabama fan. While the Hamilton family was gathered together to watch the Auburn-LSU game, Clint and Will discussed the Alabama-Auburn game and its outcome. Clint, of course, thought that Alabama would win and Will, an Auburn fan, thought that the Tigers would prevail. Clint bet Will that Alabama would win and if they did Will had to pull for the Tide for the entire next year.

I myself am an Auburn fan, but Roll Tide Will!!

Our Christmas Fun!

I know, I know. I've been off for two weeks. I should've have posted Christmas pics already!! Well, wait no more. Here's picutres from all of our Christmas events.
Tuesday, the 23rd, we had Christmas with Pop I and Granny B (my parents):
Grandma and Janet with Tillie
Jackson was more interested in what Tillie got.

Me helping Jackson. He got the hang of unwrapping after four days of Christmas!
Anna and Tillie

Just precious...Tillie with Granny Ham

Wednesay, we had Christmas with Grandpop (Poppa) and Granna (Clint's parents):
Jackson with Poppa

This was one of Jackson's favorite gifts. The other was, of course, another tractor.

Testing it out. Notice his outfit...those were his daddy's.

I love this picture. He had a ball.

If you listen closely, you can hear him making his tractor noise. Heehee.

Too cute! I think he looks like Clint in this picture.

Five generations: Grandmother Gunnells, Nana, Granna, Clint and Jackson (and Aunt Alison too!)

We were at our house Christmas morning and Santa came!

Daddy showing Jackson how to operate his dump truck

Playing, ur climbing, on his piano from Pop I and Granny B

I know he's mine. He loves shoes!

Reading his Bambi book with Daddy
Christmas Day at Daddy Jack and Granny Ham's:

Playing under the table with Granny B (Don't panic Mom, this is the only one I posted)

Still under the table

Christmas night we had dinner at Grandma and Janet's with the Isom crew:

Jackson after we put his jammies on, but it was hot at Grandma's

The Isom crew. With this many people in one room, you know it's hot!

That's it for now. We had a great Christmas! I'll have some pictures from New Year's Day later.
